Abstract
The present study aimed to evaluate the immune response specific to Aspergillus fumigatus antigens (Spore, Mycelium and mixed antigen), in rabbits using 16 local rabbits, that were divided into four groups, the first group was immunized by spore antigen, the second group with mycelium antigen, the third group with mixed (spore and mycelium) antigen and the fourth group was left as a control group which was injected with phosphate buffer saline pH 7.2. The passive haemagglutination test results in the 1st group (spore antigen) were showed that the titer of antibodies was ranged between 16-64 (36± 20.13), while in 2nd group (mycelium antigen) ranged between 128-2048 (73± 88.91) finely the 3rd group (mixed antigen) ranged between 32-64(48± 18.47). These results were significantly (P<0.001) in copare to the 4th group (control group). While the results of delayed type hypersensitivity test showed an increased in the skin thickness in immunized rabbits after 24, 48 and 72 hrs after injection of antigens, but these results were non significant (P>0.05) in case of different antigens dilution except the (1/200) mycelium antigen (2nd group) in compare to the control group (4th group), as well as there was significant increase (P<0.01)in diameter of erythema at the injection sites of immunized rabbits when spore antigen was used (P<0.01) in the dilution ( 1/50 and 1/100), these results were highly significant (P<0.001) in 1/200 dilution compared with control group. Also immunized rabbits with mixed (spore and mycelium) antigen (1/200) show highly significanterythema diameter (P<0.001), on the other hand the increase in erythema induration of 1/50 and 1/100 dilution was non significant at level (P>0.05) in comparison to control group.

Abstract
The current study was carried out on three Arabi rams in a laboratory of the Department of Animal Resources, College of Agriculture, University of Basra for the period from 14/1/2008 to 26/5/2008. The rams have drawn up in digestion cages (1.2x 0.8x 1 m). Rumen fistula were fixed on these rams. Ration, water, minerals and vitamins blocks were given ad libitum. Random samples of 12 feeds were collected from different areas of Al-Hartha and Qarmit-Ali. These feeds were phragmites australis, Typha domingensis, suaeda fruticosa, Imperata cylinrica, paniccm repens, juncos rigidus, salicorina europaea, alhagi maurorum, barley straw, corn cups, alfalfa hay and date palm seeds. All samples were dried, milled (3mm) and chemically analyzed before incubation into the rumen (0 h) and after 6, 12, 18, 24, 48, 72 and 96 h of incubation. Dry matter and protein degradability were estimated according to Orskov and McDonald (1979) formula. The results revealed that total and effective degradability (a+b and p) of dry matter content of alfalfa hay, alhagi maurorum and salicorina europaea were significantly higher (76.75, 68.74 and 63.03% and 53.8, 34.8 and 34.7% respectively) than that of other studied feeds. All protein degradabilities were high than dry matter of all feeds. Total protein degradabilities of alfalfa hay (70.62%), barley straw(68.60%) and alhagi maurorum (62.74%) were higher than other feeds. However, effective degradabilities of alfalfa hay (57.54%), alhagi maurorum(47.00%) and salicorina europaea (41.98%) were higher than that of other feeds.

Abstract
This study was conducted on 40 goats suffering from dystocia in Al-Ishakey station to the north of Baghdad. Their age ranged between (1-2.5) years. After careful clinical examination the females classified to three groups according to the causes of dystocia and treatment methods employed to relief the dystocia:
1- The first group composed of (20) goats suffering from dystocia due to lateral deviation of head and neck, this group was treated by mutation and forced extraction to relief the case. All the feti are alive (12 males and 8 females). All these cases are single birth.
2- The second group composed of (12) goats suffering from dystocia due to bilateral shoulder flexion associated with absolute fetal oversize, these cases were treated using partial fetatomy by removing the fore limbs from the shoulder region, all the feti were dead and their sexes were (8 males and 4 females). These cases are single birth.
3- The third group (8) goats suffering from dysocia due to relative fetal oversize due to narrow and small pelvis of the dam, the caesarean section was performed to treat these cases and the feti borned are alive (10 males and 6 females) and the cases are twin birth.

Abstract
The present study was designed to investigate some histopathological changes produced by cimetidine on male reproductive organs (testes & epididymis) in mice and extended to examine wherethere using of aqueous suspension of powdered Nigella sativa seeds have ability to reduce this toxicity.Forty male mice were divided into 4 groups. The first group received 25 mg/kg B.W. of cimetidine orally once daily. The second group drenched aqueous suspension of Nigella sativa at dose of 1000mg/kg B.W. and then received cimetidine. While the third group drenched Nigella sativa aqueous suspension once daily, while fourth group (control group) received normal saline only and the study was continued for (76 days). Animals which were treated with cimetidine only along the period of experiment showed sever pathological changes, particularly in testes and epididymis, whereas oral administration of the aqueous suspension of Nigella seeds aqueous suspension significantly reduced these changes which reflected by obvious increment of spermatogonia and reducing the damage of seminiferous tubules. The protective activity of Nigella sativa has been resumed via diminishing the reproductive histopathological changes associated with long-term of treatment with cimetidine.

Abstract
We examined whether the BACTEC/Mycobacxteria Growth Indicator Tube (MGIT) System alone could supplant the use of a supplemental Lowenstein–Jensen (LJ) slant for routine recovery of M. tuberculosis from clinical specimens . A total of 392 specimens of sputum were included in the study , collected from 196 patients . Specimens were processed with standard N-acetyl- L- Cysteine (NALC-NaOH) method , then inoculated onto BACTEC MGIT 960 and onto LJ media. The recovery rates of M.tuberculosis were 100 % (256/256) with BACTEC MGIT 960 and 72.6%(186/256) with LJ . The rates of contamination for each of the system were 4.8%with BACTEC MGIT 960 and 5.3%with LJ.The TTD for M. tuberculosis were 11.3 days with BACTEC System and 30.8 days with LJ.The difference in TTD between smear positive and smear negative specimens for M.tuberculosis with BACTEC MGIT 960 was not statistically significant. This study shows that the BACTEC System demonstrates better sensitivity for the recovery of M. tuberculosis from clinical specimens.

Abstract
β-lactamase was isolated from local isolate of Staph. aureus, which elicited its resistance to penicillin–G, and rapid β-lactamase production. β-lactamase has been purified by using gel-filtration chromatography in sephadex G–100 column. The molecular weight of purified β-lactamase was estimated by SDS-poly acryl amide gel electrophoresis and shown one band protein with molecular weight of 30 kDa. Antiserum was prepared for purified β-lactamase in rabbits, the measurements of antibodies titer were done by using passive haemagglutination test and it equaled to 40960, which indicated the immunogenicity of purified β-lactamase. The neutralization of β-lactamase activity by antiserum was performed in vitro, so Staph. aureus isolates regained their sensitivity to penicillin–G.

Abstract
The Fasciola hepatica surface and whole body lectins (FHLs) were separated partially purified and tentatively identified .They are of protein nature and of glucose ,lactose and mannose binding potentials .As well as they agglutinate sheep red corpuscles 2% suspension. FHLs are T lymphocyte mitogens ,but the whole body lectins was more potent than surface lectins .Thus ,whole body lectin was selected for further study .The whole body lectin stimulate specific antibody formation at both mucosal and systemic level ,post to an oral immunization program in rabbits .The immunodominant epitope can be of B cell or Th2 dependent nature and in combination with E. coli "O" antigen induces mucosal tolerance . E. coli induce significant leukocyte migration inhibitory factor ( LIF ) and the combination of E .coli -FHLs induced both significant macrophage migration inhibitory factor (MIF) and LIF in the immunoprimed rabbits .FHLs posses augumenting potential for the tuberculin skin DTH reaction indicating its cellular immunopotentiating ability .Bilateral humoral and cellular shared immunogenicity .Such shared character may be helpful in immunoprotection model of E.coli infection in one hand and source of confusion in immunomodiagnosts of Fasciola infection ,on the other hand. The conclusion of this study FHL functional epitope mapping ,maps the following possible epitope ,B or Th2 dependent .Th1 , Tdth and or shared immunodominant epitopes.

Abstract
Biochemical values of sixty clinically healthy dogs of different ages and both sexes were determined for the normal activities of serum aspartale amino transferase (AST), Alanine amino transferase (ALT), alkaline phosphatase (ALP), Urea, Creatinine, sodium, potassium, chloride, calcium, phosphorus and glucose. Comparison of above values between males and females revealed that , there was no statistical difference between both sex in all biochemical parameters. The young dogs had higher concentrations of Creatinine, ALP and ALT while the adult dogs had higher concentrations of calcium, phosphorus and chloride. Differences in the mean value of the remaining values among young and adults were not statistically significant

Abstract
Histological ,morphometric and histochemical investigations were carried out on the labial salivary glands of the buffalo. Both the upper and lower labial glands of the buffalo are branched tubuloacinar type and composed of serous acini surrounded by myoepithelial cells. Histochemically it showed seromucous character, they secrete neutral mucopolysaccarides, mucopolysaccarides acid and few sulfated mucop olysaccarides. The labial salivary glands of buffalo posses ductal system of both the intralobular ductules and interlobular ducts.

Abstract
This study was conducted to evaluate the anesthetic quality between propofol-fentanyl mixture (P-F)(2 mg/kg+0.004 mg/kg, i.v., respectively)and ketamine-fentanyl mixture (K-F)(10 mg/kg+0.004 mg/kg, i.v., respectively) in six adult dogs premedicated with atropine (0.05 mg/kg, i.m.) and xylazine (2 mg/kg, i.m.).The results revealed presence of significant difference (p< 0.05) only in the induction of anesthesia, recovery and standing period between both protocols.P-F mixture produced rapid, smooth and free of excitement induction (9.50 ± 0.76 sec) with transit apnea (19.16±2.4 sec). The duration of anesthesia was (23.33 ± 2.10 min),narcosis (32.50± 1.70 min) and anesthesia characterized by good muscle relaxation and abolishment of all reflexes with decrease in R.R. and increase in H R. Recovery was calm and rapid (46.6±2.25 min) and standing time was short (14.16±1.40 min),While anesthesia with K-F mixture characterized by slow and rough induction (29.16±1.53 sec), poor to moderate muscle relaxation and relatively shorter duration of anesthesia (18.83 ± 3.11 min)with narcosis for about(30.83 ± 5.23 min). The reflexes did not abolish completely especially eye reflexes (corneal and palpebral) and the eyes remained open. H.R. was increased but R.R. was decreased. Recovery was long and rough (78.33 ± 4.77 min) and stand time for (47.50±3.09 min).In conclusion, (P-F) mixtures produce excellent induction of general anesthesia rather than (K-F) in dogs and up to knowledge this is the first report on the uses of these mixtures for induction of anesthesia in dogs.

Abstract
The present study was conducted to explore the clinical signs and pathological changes might occur with retained placenta. Sixty three placenta examined of Iraqi buffaloes in Ninavah province during the period from February 2005 to February 2006, were collected after 24 hr post partum, Result showed variable gross lesions in those examined placenta. Some retained placenta showed sever congestion associated with presence of focal areas of necrosis and, others suffer from thickening with congested some of cotyledons. Histologically, the lesions characterized by thickening in wall of maternal blood vessels and, coagulative necrosis appeared in placental plates, maternal caruncles and fetal cotyledon. Infiltration and proliferation of macrophages and binucleated cells, desquamation of syncytiotrophoblast was quite ovious. Moreover, most Retained Placenta sections has revealed dystrophic calcification association with fatty infilteration.

Abstract
The specimens collect from Al Diwanya slaughter; we collect about 21specimens (lungs of sheep),all these specimens contained lesions with cheesy like appearance. The specimens cut and prepared for histopathological sections from it, then stained with haematoxyline and eosin stain, we note granulomatous lesion characterized by caseous necrosis in centre (like cheese) also we note fibrosis and inflammatory process includes sever infiltration of macrophages and lymphocytes with presence of giant cells ( which indicate the chronic diseases such as tuberculosis, John's disease or diseases which characterized by sever fibrosis such as fungal or parasitic diseases).
