Abstract
The aim of this study was to evaluate the level of Glycosylated HbA1c as diagnostic test and indicator for the severity of diabetes mellitus. Thirty six rabbits purchased from the local market, weighing 1.2-2 kg were used in the experiment. The animals were divided according to the gender into two groups and each was equally divided into diabetic and control group.
The results revealed highly significant difference in glycosylated HbA1c concentrations between diabetic groups and control groups, and the glycosylated Hb1c concentrations gradually increased after onset of diabetes, also the result revealed that values in diabetic males increased more than in than diabetic females (P<0.05) as well as the result revealed that the concentration of glycosylated Hb1c were increased with the increased serum glucose concentrations. The conclusion that a high HbA1c represents poor glucose control and higher levels of HbA1c are found in experimental animals with persistently elevated blood sugar, as in diabetes mellitus.

Abstract
This experiment was designed to investigate the effects of drenching 2 g / Kg. Body weight sodium nitrate ( orally for eight weeks ) on cardiac electrical activity and the levels of plasma sodium, potassium and calcium .Forteen adult Newzealand female rabbits were equally divided into control and treated groups. The animals were housed under similar conditions of tempreture, light , food and water . Electrocardiography and collection of blood samples were carried out once a week antervals for one week before treatment and for eight weeks during treatment . The results of electrocardiogram reveald that treatment caused a significant increase in P - R and a slight increase in P wave intervals . The amplitude of the electrocardiogram waves shwed a slight increase in T wave and a slight decreease in P wave voltages . The magnitude and direction of QRS vector were not significant influanced and so was the heart rate. The concentrations of plasma ions showed a significant increase in potassium level, non significant decrease in sodium level while calcium concentration was unchanged .
The results pointed out to changes in cardiac electrical activity due to direct or indirect action of nitrate on cardiac tissues , including conducting system . The changes in plasma ions related to the electrocardiogram .and may be due to renal insufficiency which affect secretion and reabsorption of these ions.

Summery:
In order to know the efficacy of whole Bacterial Sonicated Antigens (WBSAgs) of Brucella on immune response in guinea pigs. Eighteen (18) guinea pigs ( both sex ) were divided randomly to three groups: 1st group (n=6) was immunized with whole bacterial sonicted antigens (WBSAgs) of Brucella melitensis (0.5ml/ 1mg protein) S/C and repeated after 15 days in the same dose, the 2nd group (n=6) and the 3rd group (n=6) served as positive and negative control respectively.
Cell mediated and humoral immune responses were checked at day 27 and 30 post immunization respectively. After 30 days post immunization, the 1st, and 2nd groups were challenged I/P with 1ml containing 2x109 CFU/ml of viable virulent B. melitensis and 3rd group inculated with 1ml sterile normal saline.
Three animals from each groups were sacrificed on day 10 and 30 post-challenge.
The result showed that immunization with the WBSAgs of B. melitensis result in production of cellular and humoral immune response, as examined by delayed type hypersensitivity (DTH) and indirect heamagglutination test.
Abortion was found in the non-immunized infected animals, where as in the immunized infected animals was not reported.
Mild to moderate bacterial isolation and pathological changes were recorded in the target organs of the immunized infected animals at 10 days post infection, negative or very mild bacterial isolation with few splenic bacterial counts were obtained from the target organs of 1st with hyperplastic lymphoid tissue in their organs at 30 days post infection.
The control positive group showed very heavy bacterial isolation with intense sub-acute to chronic inflammatory reaction were noticed in the examined organs at 10 days post infection, and heavy bacterial isolation with high bacterial counts of spleen were investigated at 30 days post infection.
Mature to epithelioid granulomatous lesions were the main lesion in the target organs of non-immunized infected animals at 30 days post infection.
We concluded that the WBSAgs of B. melitensis induce a good protective immune response against the challenge with B. melitensis.

Abstract
The anaesthetic and some cardiopulmonary effects of Fentanyl- Ketamine (FK) and Xylazine- Ketamine (XK) combinations were studied and compared in rabbits. A sixteen rabbits were randamoly assigned to (2) different group FK and XK groups. The rabbits in FK group (n=8) were injected 0.02 mg/ kg B. W of fentanyl and 40 mg/ kg B. W of ketamine. The XK group was given 4 mg/ kg B. W of xylazine and 40 mg/ kg B. W of ketamine. All drugs in two different groups were mixed in one syringe and injected intramuscularly. Respiratory and heart rates were recorded at 2 minute before anaesthesia and 5, 10, 15, 30, 45, 60, 75, 90 and 120 minute after anaesthesia. Both groups showed depression in respiratory and heart rates after administration of anaesthetic agent, but the depression in respiratory rates in FK group was significantly more than in XK group at (5-60) minutes after injection (P<0.05). While the depression in the heart rate in FK group was significantly lower than in XK group at (45-75) minutes after injection (P<0.05). Data on reflexes (righting, pedal withdrwal for front and hind limb, ear pinch) were recorded to be utilized in determination of different stages of anaesthesia. Mean duration of loss of pedal withdrwal reflex for both front and hind limb and ear pinch reflex were significantly longer in the XF group than in the FK group (P<0.05). The duration of surgical tolerance was significantly longer in XK group than FK group (P<0.05). While the stage of early recovery and late recovery lasted significantly (P<0.05) longer in XK group than in FK group. We concluded that anaesthesia with XK or FK was suitable for common surgical produce in rabbits and the providing of oxygen is recommended in order to overcome the hypoxia.

Abstract

The study was aimed to calculate the morbidity rate of clinical and subclinical mastitis ,estimation of specificity and sensitivity of California Mastitis test for diagnosis of subclinical mastitis, and isolation of the fungi – causing clinical and subclinical mastitis in 80 milk samples collected from 41 adult lactating ewes in Al – Fallouja city.
The sensitivity and specificity of California Mastitis Test were reached to 78.79 % and 87.18% respectively. The study revealed that 10% of mammary glands (14.63 % of ewes) were infected by clinical mastitis , while the subclinical mastitis appeared in 41.25% of mammary glands (60.98 % of ewes).
The clinical mycotic mastitis was appeared in 5% of mammary glands (9.76% of ewes), where Candida albicans was isolated from 2 mammary glands , while each of Aspergillus terreus and Blastomyces dermatitidis were isolated from one gland affected by clinical mastitis.
The subclinical mycotic mastitis was appeared in 18.75% of mammary glands (26.83% of ewes) , where C. albicans, penicillium spp, Gliocladium spp, Aspergillus niger , terreus .A , A. fumigates, A. flavus and Blastomyces dermatitidis were isolated from 4,2,2,2,2,1,1 and 1 mammary gland respectively.
This study may be considered as the first report in which Gliocladium spp was demonstrated as a cause of mycotic mastitis.
It is concluded that the morbidity rate of mastitis , especially the mycotic mastitis have a continuous increments due to default sanitation and retrogression of health and nutritional status of sheep in Iraq.

Abstract

This study included the determination of the effect of the insecticide "chlorfos" on Pseudomonas aerugionsa isolated the rhizosphere of viccia faba in the fields of Al-Qadisiya district at the concentration range of 0.01 , 0.1 , 4 ppm concentration .
The results showed that the numbers of P. areuginosa reached to 7.7×108 c.f.u/g of soil in treatment control, but the number increased to 4.6×109 and 1.8×109 with the concentration 0.01 , 0.1 ppm respectively and decreased to 1.7×108 in the concentration of 4 ppm.
The results showed that P. aeruginosa had an ability to convert this insecticide to other compounds in the laboratory .

The study included the of agriculture insecticide (Cidial 50 Ec)) on the adult and larvae of mosquitoes and a comparative with effective insecticide of mosquitoes ((Icounan 10%)).
Preparing groups of mosquitoes (adult and larvae) .Three groups were treated with different concentration of (4, 8, 16) ml/litter of (Cidial 50 Ec), and the fourth group treated with (Icounan 10%) while the fifth group treated with water as control group.
The insecticide (Cidial 50 Ec)) show the effect of the lower percentage of mortality was 25% while in the highest dose was100% , the lower percent mortality of the larvae 15% and the highest percent was in 16 ml/litter, compared that with the Icounan 10% the mortality rate in adult and larvae 100% , while the control group with two insecticide there was no effect.
The study show there was no interaction between the stages of insects with sensitivity of agriculture insecticide and the randomly spray of agriculture insecticide may lead the resistance of mosquitoes to several of insecticide which have nearly similar chemical composition to that used against to the mosquitoes insecticide.
