Abstract :
The present study was carried out to determine the hepatoprotective effect of vit C in acrylemide toxicity of male albino mice. After the determination of LD50,160 male mice were randomely divided into three equal groups. The first group administrated acrylemide for (45) days at different concentration (50, 100, 150) mg /kg B.W. The second group injected with acrylemide for (45) days (50, 100, 150) mg /kg B.W, then administrated with vitamin C for (45) days at concentration of (500) mg /kg B.W. While the third group injected by vit.C at concentration (500) mg /kg B.W, then administrated acrylemide at concentration (50, 100, 150) mg /kg B.W.The injection was every (48) hours.
The present study revealed :-
1-A Significant decrease (p<0.05) in the total body weight and lung. At concentration of (150) mg /kg B.W. acrylemide,
2-A significant increase in the alveoli diameter at acrylemide concentration of (150) mg /kg B.W.
3-The treatment with acrylemide at of (50) mg /kg B.W. with vit C at concentration of (500) mg /kg B.W. leads to a significamt increase in body weight, Also, the lungs weight increased at acrylemide (150) mg /kg B.W.
4- A significant decrease in alveoli diameters was occurred especially in second group at low concentration of acrylemide , while happened significant increase in alveoli diameter at higher concentration. In third treament with vit.C at concentration (500) mg /kg B.W.then with acrylemide at different concentration (50,100,150) mg /kg B.W leads to significant increase in total body weight and increase in langs weight at concentration of (150) mg /kg of acryelmide .
5- A significant increase in alveoli diameters was occurred expecially in third group at acryelmide concentration of (150) mg /kg B.W.
6- The histopathological changes of the lungs tissue were distruction in inter aleveolar walls and atrophy in some aleveoli , as well as emphysema .
From other hand the present study showed that the histopathological changes of lungs tissues was relatively improved by the role of vit.C .And the treatment with vit.C after administration of acryelmide was best than the treatment with vit.C before acryelmide administration
